Over the past year, 201 cases of discrimination were registered in Georgia, said a report by Georgian Ombudsman Ucha Nanuashvili.
In his report, the ombudsman said that 12 percent of discrimination cases are related to different causes, 11 percent to gender issues, 10 percent to religious affiliation, 9 percent to political views and 7 percent to ethnicity.
Nanuashvili noted that an information campaign “Equality around us” was launched in Georgia.
According to the ombudsman, although important steps have been taken to eliminate all forms of discrimination in Georgia, equality still remains a problem.
