An incident happened during the polling process in Georgia’s Marneuli district, which is home to a large number of Azerbaijanis as an activist of the oppositionist European Georgia Party was physically assaulted by members of the ruling Georgian Dream Party, APA’s local bureau reported.
Following the incident, Giga Bokeriya, one of the leaders of the European Georgia Party, is on a visit to Marneuli and said the Interior Ministry will be informed about the incident.
Eka Beselia, the Chairman of the Legal Issues Committee of Georgian Parliament, said there are attempts to cause unrest in the district and called on opposition to create conditions for people to vote without interruption.
