David Bakradze, one of the leaders of Georgia’s oppositionist European Georgia Party, has commented on the deployment of special police force in Marneuli.
The politician told a briefing that the government is attempting to create tension in Marneuli and deprive the people of their right to vote.
“According to initial results, our candidate for the post of head of Marneuli executive power Ahmad Imamguliyev is winning. The candidate that has the support of locals in Marneuli has to win,” he said.
Temur Abazov, the Georgian Dream Party’s candidate for the post of head of Marneuli district executive power, accused his opponents of deliberately creating tension. He argued that the polling process is going smoothly.
