Baku – APA. Former player of Turkey’s Galatasaray FC Ugur Tutuneker was detained at Istanbul’s Ataturk Airport Sept. 1 while returning from Switzerland, local newspaper Sabah reported.
According to the newspaper, Tutuneker was detained as part of the fight against the Fetullah Gulen movement, accused of involvement in the July 15 coup attempt.
Earlier, Turkey’s law-enforcement agencies had issued a warrant against the footballer and confiscated his property. Upon this decision, Tutuneker was sacked as head coach of Swiss Wil FC.
