A book of condolence is unlikely to be opened at the embassy, the diplomat added.
At least 247 people were killed after a 6-magnitude earthquake struck central Italy on Aug.24. The Italian Civil Protection Department said the hardest-hit were Lazio town of Amatrice and nearby Accumoli.
Two-day mourning was declared in Italy for earthquake victims.
