Baku – APA. Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan made a phone call to his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin on Aug. 26.
The two presidents reiterated their determination to normalize bilateral ties, according to the Turkish media.
The sides focused on discussing the Syria crisis and reached agreement on ramping up efforts for humanitarian aid to be delivered to Aleppo.
Erdogan informed Putin about the operation “Fırat Kalkanı” (Euphrates Shield) that resulted in the liberation of Jarablus from the Islamic State terrorist group.
In addition, the Turkish and Russian presidents agreed on having a bilateral meeting during the upcoming G20 summit in China.
