The incident took place on a highway crossing through the Yukhari Saral village of the predominantly Azerbaijani district of Marneuli, APA’s Georgia bureau reported.
Yukhari Saral resident Ali Abbas said the Armenian citizen tried to flee the scene and was stopped by another car driven by an Azerbaijani. The Armenian citizen was then detained by traffic patrol service.
Hasanov, who received serious injuries, has been hospitalized. Doctors say his condition remains moderately critical.
The fact is under investigation.
