This is according to an investigation conducted by prosecuting authorities, APA reported citing Hurriyet.
According to the investigation, “Yurtta Sulh Åžurası”, for which a declaration was read on TRT TV channel the same day when the coup attempt took place, was just a name. There is no information as to who exactly are members of “Yurtta Sulh Åžurası”.
The coup attempt was intercepted thanks to tough resistance from Hulusi Akar, Chief of the General Staff.
According to the investigation, had Hulusi Akar consented to the plan, he would stay in his position and YaÅŸar Güler, Deputy Chief of the General Staff, would be replaced with General Mehmet DiÅŸli.
