A new British ambassador to the United States will be appointed in due course, a spokesman for Prime Minister Theresa May said on Wednesday, declining to offer a timetable for when that might happen, APA reports .
It is not clear whether May, who has only two weeks left in power, will make the new appointment or leave it to her successor, who, according to opinion polls, looks set to be her former foreign minister, Boris Johnson.
“Sir Kim (Darroch) will step down once a new appointment has been made ... The new appointment will be made in due course,” the spokesman told reporters.
