The initial stage of negotiations between Türkiye and Russia on the construction of the second nuclear power plant in Sinop will be completed this year, Turkish Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Fatih Donmez said in an interview with the "TRT" channel, APA's Istanbul correspondent reports.
He believes that the foundation of Sinop NPP will be laid within 2-3 years.
In addition, the minister also emphasized that "Akkuyu", which is currently under construction and will officially receive NPP status on April 27, was built to withstand an earthquake with a magnitude of 9.
