The Commissioner for Human Rights (Ombudsman) of the Republic of Azerbaijan Sabina Aliyeva attended the next online meeting of the Ombudsmen of the Turkic States.
The Ombudsman's Office told APA that the event was attended by the heads of the Ombudsman and heads of national human rights institutions of Turkey, Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan.
Speaking at the online event, the Azerbaijani Ombudsman stressed the importance of the exchange of experience in terms of further improving the activities in the field of protection of human rights and freedoms. Sabina Aliyeva proposed to establish a working group with representatives of each member organization to discuss the charter of the Association and ensure organizational work. This proposal was welcomed by the participants of the event.
In conclusion, the participants agreed to hold the next meeting of the Association of Ombudsmen of the Organization of Turkic States in a live format, which will give a great impetus to the strengthening of joint cooperation.
