NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg will stay in the position for another year, APA reports citing Sky news.

In February, he was appointed governor of Norway's central bank Norges Bank and was supposed to take office in December, as his term at the head of NATO was to expire in September.

According to the report, NATO members have already agreed to extend his mandate in light of the ongoing conflict between Ukraine and Russia, and the decision will be announced later in the day during the NATO summit in Brussels. Stoltenberg has already seen his term extended twice, and has served a total of eight years as the leader of the alliance.
