The Russian military launched a large-scale missile attack overnight on August 1, targeting Kyiv and several other areas of the surrounding region, APA reports, citing UNİAN.

The attack reportedly involved Tsirkon (Zircon) hypersonic missiles.

Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko initially reported that at least one person had been killed, while several others, including a 17-year-old teenager, were injured.

The strikes triggered fires in residential and non-residential buildings in the Solomianskyi, Darnytskyi, and Shevchenkivskyi districts of Kyiv, with missile debris falling on buildings and vehicles.

In the Bucha district of the Kyiv region, fires also broke out at a warehouse and in residential areas. Residents reported hearing dozens of powerful explosions during the attack.
