"The Polska Amunicja (PA) consortium will be able to start deliveries of 155 mm caliber artillery shells, entirely manufactured in Polish factories, from 2027," Piotr Wojciechowski, president of the Grupa WB group of companies, which is part of PA, said in an interview with the Rzeczpospolita newspaper on September 16, APA reports.
Wojciechowski said that Poland needs ammunition, and PA has a well-coordinated team that has been working on this project for several dozen months. According to the businessman, if an order is received for the supply of ammunition and the expansion of capacity in the country, the consortium will cope with this task.
"With an agreement with the Armament Agency, PA undertakes to supply ammunition manufactured entirely in Polish factories from 2027. During the transition period, we will gradually establish the production of individual shell components in Poland," Wojciechowski said.
He noted that although all components will be manufactured on Polish territory, this will not necessarily be at Polska Amunicja plants. According to Wojciechowski, the consortium sees great potential for cooperation in this area with Polish Armaments Group companies, for example when it comes to TNT or detonators.
