Authorities of Poland accused 40 Russian diplomats of espionage and decided to expel them from the country. This was reported by the portal Onet, citing sources in the government, APA reports citing Bloomberg.
“The Polish authorities have decided to expel about 40 Russian diplomats from Poland for their activities incompatible with the status of a diplomat, which in the language of diplomacy means espionage,” the publication says.
According to the website of the Russian embassy, it employs just over 50 people. At the same time, Poland suspected 40 of them of carrying out activities “contradicting the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations.” In this regard, Ambassador RF in Warsaw, Sergei Andreev was summoned to the Polish Foreign Ministry.
