"Georgia does not impose any bilateral sanctions against Iran. That would be absurd and wrong," Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze told journalists, APA's local bureau reports.
He stated that Georgia acts in full compliance with the existing sanctions regime.
"Georgia always takes into account the sanctions regimes of various countries. When specific institutions and states impose such sanctions, we also make the relevant decisions," Irakli Kobakhidze added.
It should be noted that on September 8, the US Treasury Department's Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) added 27 Iranian airlines to its sanctions list. Among them are air carriers operating flights between Iran and Georgia.
Georgia's Civil Aviation Agency stated that Tbilisi would act in full compliance with the sanctions regime.
