President Donald Trump said the war with Iran would end “very soon” and described the rise in oil prices as “a very small price to pay” for US and global security, Iran International reports.
Addressing a midterms rally in Iowa on Sunday, Trump said the military campaign had stopped Iran from acquiring a nuclear weapon and predicted fuel prices would fall sharply once the war ended.
“When that war is over, it’s going to come plunging,” he said.
Trump said he had expected oil prices to rise much more than they had. “It’s a very small price to pay for the security of this country and for the world.”
He offered no specific timetable for ending the war, saying: “It’s going to be over very soon. Very soon.”
