Baku. Malahat Najafova – APA. Serbia's ambassador to NATO has reportedly committed suicide by leaping from a parking structure at Brussels airport, APA reports quoting Associated Press.
The Serbian Foreign Ministry said Branislav Milinkovic "died tragically" on the evening of December 4, without providing further details. Serbian media reports say Milinkovic jumped from the 8- to 10-meter-high platform, adding that he killed himself in front of a senior Serbian Foreign Ministry official. A Brussels airport official confirmed that a man died after a fall but would not give information on his identity.
Serbia is not a NATO member but has representation at the alliance's headquarters in Brussels.
The death occurred as NATO foreign ministers are meeting in Brussels.
Milinkovic, a long-serving diplomat, was appointed Serbia's ambassador to NATO in 2009.
