Qatar's Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, held talks with U.S. Presidential Special Envoy Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, the son-in-law of U.S. President Donald Trump, on negotiations being conducted under the implementation of the ceasefire memorandum signed between Iran and the United States.
According to Qatar's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the discussions focused on the ongoing diplomatic process aimed at implementing the memorandum.
The ministry said Qatar will continue to play its role as a mediator and support all negotiations envisaged under the memorandum in an effort to achieve a comprehensive and long-term settlement.
The meeting also included an exchange of views on the situation in the Middle East, particularly the ceasefire in Lebanon. The participants stressed the importance of preserving and strengthening the ceasefire to safeguard Lebanon's unity, sovereignty, and stability.
The U.S. delegation praised the efforts of Qatar and Pakistan in facilitating dialogue. Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner reaffirmed Washington's commitment to remaining engaged in the negotiations and supporting diplomatic efforts aimed at reaching a comprehensive agreement.
