The visit of the delegation led by Speaker of the Islamic Consultative Assembly of Iran Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf to Baku was successful, Ismail Baghaei, spokesperson for Iran's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, said in response to a question from APA's Tehran bureau.
The Foreign Ministry spokesperson described Ghalibaf's visit to Azerbaijan last week as successful.
"It was a multilateral visit. Ghalibaf's visit to Baku was successful and helped explain Iran's position on the developments taking place in West Asia," Baghaei said.
The Foreign Ministry spokesperson noted that it is important for Iran to make use of the opportunities provided by parliamentary diplomacy, develop relations with other countries, and, especially under the current tense situation in the region, explain the issues.
