A fuel tanker truck collided with a locomotive in , leaving one person injured.
According to the Azerbaijan Railways (ADY), the accidSumgayitent occurred at around 10:28 p.m. near the exit of Sumgayitchay Station.
The railway operator said that an empty fuel tanker truck bearing registration number 77-BZ-281 violated railway crossing regulations and entered the path of an oncoming locomotive.
Although the train driver applied the emergency brakes, the distance was too short to prevent the collision.
As a result of the crash, the locomotive derailed, while the truck driver sustained injuries of varying severity.
Authorities have launched an investigation into the incident.
