NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg revealed on Tuesday that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is expected to join the alliance's summit in July, which will be held in Vilnius, APA reports citing Teletrader.
"We will develop a multi-year initiative to support Ukraine that will help secure Ukraine's defense conditions, the transition from Soviet-era equipment and doctrines to NATO standards, and improve interoperability with NATO," Stoltenberg said during the press briefing following the NATO-Ukraine Commission (NUC) meeting of foreign ministers.
"The members of the Alliance made it clear that we remain committed to NATO's open door policy. We encourage Ukraine to continue the path of reform, even in difficult times," the alliance's secretary general added, assuring that Kiev will become a member of the alliance.
