Since the beginning of summer, the aggressor country of the russian federation has carried out more than 2,000 strikes on the territory of the Sumy Region. Because of this, the population of 183 settlements is subject to evacuation, APA reports citing Ukranews.
The Minister of Interior Affairs Ihor Klymenko announced this on his Telegram channel.
Throughout the summer, the russians used missiles, artillery, guided aerial bombs, attack drones, and mortars to attack the Sumy Region.
"Due to constant Russian terror, the population of 183 settlements in 15 territorial communities of the Sumy Region is subject to priority evacuation. More than 20,000 people have already been evacuated, including almost 2,500 children," Klymenko said.
In his opinion, the creation of a buffer zone on the territory of the Kursk Oblast is a step that will help protect Ukrainian border communities from daily enemy shelling.
