Mike Pompeo, the US Secretary of State, congratulates Giorgi Gakharia on his appointment as Georgia’s new Prime Minister, APA reports citing Georgian media.
“Congratulation to your nomination and September 8 confirmation as Georgia’s new Prime Minister. I look forward to working with you to further advance our bilateral relationship in the spheres of democracy and governance, economic and trade cooperation , defenace and security cooperation, as well as people-to –people and cultural exchanges within the framework of the US-Georgia charter on strategic partnership.
The US reaffirms its unwavering support for Georgia’s territorial integrity and sovereignty in the face of Russian aggression. The United States stands by the 2008 NATO Bucharest Summit Decision, which was reaffirmed at the 2018 Brussels Summit, that Georgia will become a member of NATO,” the letter of congratulations, published on PM’s web-page, reads.
