Italian gov't reappoints Descalzi as Eni's CEO

The Italian government named on Wednesday the chief executive officers (CEO) and presidents of major publicly-controlled companies, the energy giant Eni S.p.A., the gas and electricity maker Enel S.p.A., the transmission system operator Terna S.p.A., the defense technology maker Leonardo S.p.A., and the postal service provider Poste Italiane S.p.A, APA reports citing Teletrader.

According to the announcement made by the Italian Economy and Finance Ministry, Claudio Descalzi will remain Eni's CEO, while Giuseppe Zafarana will take over the presidency. Enel will be led by Flavio Cattaneo as CEO and Paolo Scaroni as president. Former Ecological Transition Minister Roberto Cingolani will become Leonardo's CEO, and Stefano Pontecorvo its president.

Matteo Del Fante was reappointed as the Poste Italiane's managing director, while Silvia Rovere was named the service's president. Lastly, Giuseppina Di Foggia was appointed as Terna's head. The naming of those individuals will become official following each company's respective assembly, which will be held at the end of April and the beginning of May.
