Georgian President Salome Zourabichvili has demanded that the ruling Georgian Dream -Democratic Georgia party agree on the date of early parliamentary elections before December 29, when her powers expire, APA reports citing TASS.
"Whoever wants everything to end well in the country, let them come to the [presidential] palace. Let Ivanishvili come (founder of the ruling party - approx. TASS), as he manages everything. And I'm ready for us to sit down and decide how the elections will be scheduled. Only the date of the election must be agreed upon before December 29," Zourabichvili said, addressing the participants of the protest rally on Rustaveli Avenue in the center of Tbilisi.
Zourabichvili, who experienced technical problems during her speech, in particular, the microphone turned off and television broadcasts were interrupted for a while, also said that she would inform in more detail about her plans on Monday. She did not speak in front of the parliament building, where the police did not allow it, but in front of the nearby Tbilisi Classical Gymnasium. After the speech, she left Rustaveli Avenue, where the protesters traditionally gathered.
