Georgia, Ukraine, Latvia, Lithuania, and Estonia will jointly release a written statement, APA’s Georgian bureau reports.

It is reported that the statement will cover return of Russian Federation to the PACE.

These five countries are contrary to the restoration of Russia’s voting right and say that removal reasons of Russian Federation have not changed.

According to Tamar Khulordava, the Chairperson of the Committee on European Integration of the Parliament of Georgia, decision of Georgia’s supporter countries is groundless.

She said that Georgia, Ukraine, Latvia, Lithuania, and Estonia delegations used political gesture and did not take part in the first meeting of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe. However they do not intend to leave the organization.

“The decision on Russia’s return to the PACE did not base on logical terms, as reasons of stopping Russia’s voting rights had not changed. That was why we decided not to send delegation to the first meeting, which is characterized as just a ceremony”, T. Khulordava noted.

Note that Georgia, Ukraine, Latvia, Lithuania, and Estonia delegations did not participate in the opening of fall session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe as a sign of solidarity with Ukraine last day.
