Finnish Prime Minister Sanna Marin submitted a letter of resignation from the government to President Sauli Niinistö, APA reports citing Yle.
The leader of the opposition National Conservative Party, Petteri Orpo, who won the parliamentary elections, will start preliminary talks on a new government next week.
“I accept your resignation and hope that the government will continue to act until a new one is appointed,” Sauli Niinistö said and thanked Ms. Marin for her cooperation.
