EU High Representative called on Georgia to withdraw law on banning public displays of LGBT

High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell called on Georgian parliament to withdraw the laws on "family values and protection of minors", he noted in this regard on X, APA reports.

"The Georgian Parliament adopted laws on "family values and protection of minors" which will undermine the fundamental rights of the people and increase discrimination and stigmatisation. I call on Georgia to withdraw this legislation, further derailing the country from its EU path," Borrell stressed.

Note that the Georgian lawmakers on Tuesday approved the third and final reading of a law on "family values and the protection of minors" that would impose sweeping curbs on LGBT rights.
