Earlier in the day, the Russian army's Sever (North) battlegroup and the approaching reserves prevented attempts by Ukrainian forces to advance into Russian territory, APA reports citing Sputnik.
As a result, Ukrainian losses amounted to more than 280 troops and 27 armored vehicles, including four tanks, the Russian Ministry of Defense (MoD) has said in a statement.
In total, the Ukrainian army lost up to 945 soldiers and 102 armored vehicles in the battle in the Kursk region, according to the MoD.
