Azerbaijanis living in Georgia held protest in Tbilisi - PHOTO

Residents of Garajalar village of Georgia’s Gardabani region have held protests nearby parliamentary building in Tbilisi, APA’s Georgian bureau reports.

Protesters noted three of six people, arrested due to the incident occurred in the village in 2017 – Dinar Mehdiyev, Rahib Karimov, and Nijat Babayev were innocent and required to decrease their charges.

Protesters stated that court process related to them had been held iniquitously.

The protestor said that the perpetrators of the case are at liberty and there are pieces of evidence that prove their guilt. Villagers held slogans like “Georgian Azerbaijanis are only remembered during the election!”, “We demand fair court” noted that they had appealed to the Georgian Court of Appeal regarding the issue. Note that, there has also been a protest in front of the Attorney General's office of Georgia last day. The appeal of residents of Garajalar village has been presented to the Attorney General’s office at the end of the protest.
