President of Serbia Aleksandar Vučić commented on the ongoing campaign in the republic to deliver illegal weapons without legal consequences for their owners, APA reports citing local TV Pink television channel.
“Today, at this moment, we have exactly 100,000 assembled weapons and mine explosive devices and exactly 4 million pieces of ammunition,” Aleksandar Vučić said.
Let’s remember that in Serbia at the beginning of May there were two incidents of massacres. The first occurred in a Belgrade school on May 3. Then nine people died. The second occurred on the outskirts of the city on May 4. As a result, eight people died and 14 were injured. Subsequently, the authorities organized an action for the voluntary surrender of firearms by citizens. Vučić had previously stated that starting May 8, for one month, citizens could turn in their illegally owned firearms and ammunition without any repercussions.
