British government calls BBC to reduce salaries

London –APA. British government insistently called BBC to review huge salaries of its big-name stars. Otherwise the government can refuse to finance BBC, APA reports quoting The Times. The culture secretary, Andy Burnham said at the meeting with the BBC Trust that they have to take into account the impact of big salaries on the perception of the BBC at a time when license fee payers are facing difficult economic circumstances. He said the millions-pound sterling contracts signed with TV stars caused negative reactions in the society, which faced with the financial crisis.
