Azerbaijan increases cement production by 40%

Baku. Agshin Rafigoglu - APA-Economics. In January-November, 2014, Azerbaijan-based construction materials companies increased products by 19.8% to AZN 417.4 mln.

State Statistical Committee said that 2,715,100 tonnes of cement were produced during 11 months of 2014, up 38.0% from previous year.

During the same period, 265,100 tonnes of building bricks were produced, down 26.9% compared to analogical period.

Asphalt production also rose 1% to 372,300 tonnes. Prefabricated concrete buildings soared 45.4% to 31,700 tonnes. Ready-mixed concrete surged 24.3% to 1,554,500 tonnes.

Construction gyps production dropped 26.8% to 172,700 tonnes. At the same time, processed marble, travertine, alabaster and products also declined during the same period.
