In January this year, Azerbaijan’s average daily crude oil production stood at 459 thousand barrels, APA-Economics reports, citing the monthly report of the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC).
The same indicator in December last year was also at the level of 459 thousand barrels.
Based on the data, Azerbaijan’s average daily crude oil production in the first, second, third, and fourth quarters of last year amounted to 466 thousand barrels, 461 thousand barrels, 459 thousand barrels, and 459 thousand barrels, respectively.
It is reported that in 2025, Azerbaijan’s average daily crude oil production was 461 thousand barrels, which is 20 thousand barrels less compared to the 2024 figure.
Recall that Azerbaijan is a participant in the OPEC+ agreement. OPEC+ is an initiative involving OPEC member states and non-OPEC countries aimed at reducing oil production to balance the market.
It should be noted that, according to the agreement reached by OPEC+ ministers, Azerbaijan’s production quota is set at 551 thousand barrels per day until the end of 2026. Thus, in January last year Azerbaijan produced 92 thousand barrels per day below its quota under OPEC+, and for the whole of 2025 the shortfall amounted to 90 thousand barrels.
