Last year, under contracts signed by BP in the Azerbaijan-Georgia-Türkiye (AGT) region with local companies directly and with foreign contractors operating in the region, direct (subcontractor – 396 enterprises) costs incurred on local labor (services) and materials amounted to 1,516.2 million USD, which is a 2% decrease in an annual comparison, APA-Economics reports citing BP’s report on its activities in Azerbaijan for the past year.
According to the document, BP spent USD 645.3 million within the framework of joint ventures (14 companies) with local partners during the reporting period.
The report indicates that the company spent USD 349.9 million on the expenses of foreign contractors in the country (88 companies). Additionally, during that period, BP's expenses for 260 small and medium-sized enterprises amounted to USD 472.9 million, while expenses for 34 state-owned companies amounted to USD 48.1 million.
