Azerbaijan produced 2,5 billion kWh of electricity last month

In the last month, 2,493.4 million kWh of electricity was produced in Azerbaijan, the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Azerbaijan told APA-Economics.

During the month, electricity production in thermal power plants (TPPs) amounted to 2,224.9 million kWh, in hydroelectric power stations (HPSs) to 218.3 million kWh, and 50.2 million kWh from other sources. In this period, wind power plants produced 2.9 million kWh, solar power plants produced 26.4 million kWh, and the Waste-To-Energy Incineration Plants produced 20.9 million kWh of electricity.

Compared to the corresponding period last year, there was an increase of 96.4 million kWh in electricity production from renewable energy sources, including hydroelectric power stations.

During the month, electricity production was as follows: 2,232.6 million kWh by "Azerenerji" OJSC (2,021.6 million kWh from TPPs, 211.0 million kWh from HPSs), 32.0 million kWh by the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic State Energy Service (22.4 million kWh from TPPs, 6.4 million kWh from HPSs, 3.2 million kWh from hydroelectric stations), 2.0 million kWh from wind power plants by "Azərişıq" OJSC, and 226.8 million kWh from independent power plants.

In this period, electricity exports made up 157.4 million kWh, while imports was 11.2 million kWh.
