The turbines of the "Khizi-Absheron" Wind Power Plant, built by ACWA Power, are expected to be installed and commissioned by the end of this year, Javid Abdullayev, Director of the State Agency for Renewable Energy Sources under the Ministry of Energy of Azerbaijan told journalists, during a media tour of the "Khizi-Absheron" Wind Power Plant, APA-Economics reports.
He underlined that the project is being implemented in the Absheron and Khizi districts, on a total area of 36 hectares. The section consisting of 12 wind turbines with a total capacity of 78 MW will be located in the Absheron district, and the 162 MW section consisting of 25 wind turbines will be located in the Khizi district.
"It is projected that more than 300 million kilowatt-hours of electricity will be produced annually in Absheron, and more than 600 million kilowatt-hours in Khizi," Javid Abdullayev noted.
