President Ilham Aliyev: Those businessmen have robbed state property and stolen state funds

Baku – APA. Several businessmen have recently been brought to justice over gross violations because they failed to comprehend their responsibility. Citizens will be informed about these issues soon.

Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev made the remarks Wednesday at the first meeting of the State Commission, created to investigate the causes of the fire in a high-rise in Baku.

The head of state said those businessmen have robbed state property and stolen state funds.

“The families of those officials commit crimes and try to evade responsibility. It’s regrettable that there are some state officials backing them and trying every nasty way to have them evade responsibility. Those sitting here are aware of my position. A man, especially a senior state official, will not be able to evade responsibility. They should be responsible. If you have committed a crime, you’ve got to serve your sentence,” President Aliyev stressed.
