These indicators give us ground to say that positive dynamics will be maintained by the end of this year”, said the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev addressing the meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers on the outcomes of the first half of 2013 and tasks lying ahead.

Investments in the amount of $12.6bn are very good indicators. If this rate is maintained, the investments will reach $25bn by the year-end. Every investment serves the economy, creation of jobs, increases the economic power of Azerbaijan. Today, Azerbaijan invests in the economies of other countries”.
President Ilham Aliyev underlined that currency stocks exceed $48bn. The Head of State said the reforms carried out in the country are praised by the world's leading financial institutions.
“Even in the years of crisis Azerbaijan’s incomes are increasing, exchange rate of manat remains unchanged. Incomes of population surged by 7%, inflation made up 2%. Salaries increased, average salary made up $520, average pension - $200”.
Ilham Aliyev said that regions of the country are developing rapidly. The second State Program on the development of regions to be completed at the end of this year, Program on the Development of Baku and surrounding settlements are being implemented successfully.
Speaking about successful steps taken in the foreign policy, President Ilham Aliyev said that great attention is paid to the cooperation with international organizations. The Head of State mentioned his participation in the international events and meetings and noted that anti-Azerbaijan, pro-Armenian forces that can not accept the successful development of our country strengthened their activity during the past year: “And it’s normal. Because they can not be satisfied with the independent policy, internal stability of the country.” Underlining the special importance of the visit to the European Union, President noted positive results of this visit, good opportunities for discussion of a number of issues.
President Ilham Aliyev also said that Azerbaijan successfully continued its energy policy. He touched upon the military parade held in Baku last month and stressed that this parade once more showed the might of Azerbaijan's Army.
Minister of Finance Samir Sharifov, Minister of Agriculture Ismat Abasov, Minister of Transport Ziya Mammadov informed the Head of State about the work done in the first half of the year.
Making a closing speech at the meeting President Ilham Aliyev underlined the importance of paying great attention to the macroeconomic stability taking into account the increase of salaries and pensions. Azerbaijan's President said it is a great success that inflation is at the low level against the background of the increase of budget spending, social payments, salaries, pensions, implementation of investment of projects, repayment of the Soviet-era bank savings. Noting that the second State Program on the development of regions, program on the development of Baku and the surrounding settlements are being implemented successfully, President Ilham Aliyev said great attention will be paid to the continuation of the construction of village roads in the regions in the coming months. The Head of State said the construction of Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway and the biggest sea port in the Caspian is also being continued successfully. President Ilham Aliyev also spoke about the work done to strengthen state support for the development of entrepreneurship, ensure food safety, implement projects on melioration, industrialization, drinkable water, energy, gas.
President Ilham Aliyev said the Azerbaijani people support the steps taken to combat corruption. Especially underlining the activity of ASAN service, the Head of State said the coverage of this service will be enhanced.
President Ilham Aliyev gave instructions for successful implementation of the tasks lying ahead.
