President Ilham Aliyev: â€œBaku is one of the centers of the world"

Baku-APA. “Hotel Fairmont, in the true sense of the word, grandiose. It is the largest, most modern hotel of Baku, Azerbaijan, the conditions created here are at the highest level. Personally, I have not seen more beautiful, grand hotel than this one”, said President Ilham Aliyev at the official inauguration of Fairmont Baku hotel, which is part of the Flame Towers complex.

In Baku, there are a lot of hotels. In particular, over the last two years five-star hotels have been built. Azerbaijan, Baku differs from this point of view, because there is not a second city, where for two years six five-star hotels were built. All these hotels represent the most famous hotel brands”.

The President noted that construction of the hotels speaks about the investments to Baku. Anyway Baku is beautiful city. However, new hotels make our city more beautiful. Today in Baku, there are all known hotel brands. Only in the last two years, hotels like Kempinski, Hilton, Jumeirah, Marriott, Four Seasons and Fairmont were opened. That is an indicator. It shows the development of our country; Shows the direction of investments in Azerbaijan; Shows investors' faith in the present and the future of Azerbaijan. In short, our country is developing.

Construction of such grand, fine hotels demonstrates the power of Azerbaijan. For five months of the current year, non-oil sector in Azerbaijan increased by 11 percent. I think this is the highest rate in the world”.

The head of the State noted that “Flame Towers” is a new symbol of Baku. “In Baku, there are ancient symbols, and we are rightly proud of them. "Maiden Tower" is the symbol of Baku, Icherisheher is a unique architectural monument. Boulevard operates more than 100 years. All these are the ancient symbols of Baku.

During independence, new symbols of Baku have been created. Among them I can mention the Heydar Aliyev Center. This is also a unique piece of architecture that has no analogues in the world. â€‹â€‹The flag square is a symbol of our modern state. The grandiose flag square, that reflects the independence of Azerbaijan, also has no analogues in the world. I think the new boulevard is the new symbol of Baku. Other buildings embody our modern city, and the "Flame Towers", of course, has a special place among them. This is a unique piece of architecture, which has no analogues in the world, and it was built in one of the most beautiful places of the city with great taste and love”.

The President noted that the opening of this hotel at the same time will give impetus to the development of the tourism sector. “I am confident that tourists will come to stay here, to see this place, because now the "Flame Towers" is well-known in the world as an architectural monument. In Azerbaijan, tourism is developing rapidly. Each year, numbers of tourists are increasing. I am glad that tourist resorts are opened not only in Baku but also in other places, including “Shahdagh” complex." In this winter season, five hotels will operate there. It shows the overall development of our country. Our country is developing rapidly. All areas, including construction and tourism are developing. Once again I want to say that the construction and opening in Azerbaijan such grand buildings, hotels are a manifestation of the overall development of our country”, said Ilham Aliyev.
