# 21 June 2013 12:08 (UTC +04:00)

Baku. Etibar Mammadov – APA. The National Council established by several opposition parties and social movement, has held its first session today.

APA reports that the socio-political situation in the country, obligations of the National Council and organization of its activity were discussed, 17 commissions and committees established at the session.

However some members of the National Council objected to commission and committees. Member of the National Council Jamil Hasanli said there are too many commissions: “We can merge some of the commissions, some of them are even unnecessary. For example, environmental commission is excessive. The National Council has more important activities than environment in the transition period.”

Taking into account the comments and proposals, Musavat Party leader Isa Gambar offered to postpone the establishment of the commissions and committees, to agree on the number of commissions with the Head of National Council Administration again.

The offer was put to the vote and passed.
