Azerbaijani President: "The fight against corruption and bribery is producing good results"

President said that both the population and international organizations witness the results of the fight against corruption and bribery: “The survey recently carried out by international organizations shows that the Azerbaijani population welcomes the steps taken in the fight against corruption. Approximately 70% of the population believes that a very serious and efficient fight is being carried out in Azerbaijan in this regard. I can say that this figure is about 20% on the global scale. This figure is 70% in Azerbaijan. That is the figure, the main result of our activities. Therefore, I am very pleased that this fight is producing results. I think that we need to be more active. We should maximally limit the room for corruption and bribery. I want to reiterate that punitive measures are being implemented and will be implemented. Administrative measures and systematic steps are being and will be taken. Of course, e-government, e-services hold special place among them. I would especially like to underline the activity of ASAN Service. This service, which has won the sympathy of the people within a short period of time, is enhancing its activity. Under my instructions, the number of the services is increasing. In the future we should see how we can apply the practice gained there within a short period of time in other spheres. We will do it, this is the path we have chosen,” he said.

The Head of State said the responsibility of public servants also plays and should play the role in this issue. “Every public servant should fight against corruption. Azerbaijan’s rapid development is a reality. Our future is bright. I want to say once more that Azerbaijan will be among the developed countries. Therefore, we should eliminate all unpleasant cases and do our best so that Azerbaijan holds one of the leading places for this indicator,” he said.
