# 06 June 2013 16:12 (UTC +04:00)

The Azerbaijani Parliament told APA that according to the amendment made to the Code of Execution of Punishments article #166.6, the deportation is to be carried out within 48 hours.

According to the amendment, those sentenced to the penalty of deportation from Azerbaijan are to leave the country within 48 hours. If paperwork for the execution of this punishment is delayed or there is any reasonable excuse that prevents the execution of this decision, the court of first instance may consider extending the period of deportation basing on the representation of the executive body. The current effective responsibility of the episode is defined in the article #166.4: “A person, who is sentenced to a punishment of deportation from the Republic of Azerbaijan, is to leave the country the day he/she is released from serving the main sentence, except for reasonable excuse.”

The draft law will be submitted for discussion at the special session of the Azerbaijani Parliament on June 13.
