Ali Hasanov: Some US, European circles, intâ€™l organizations under their influence seek to destabilize Azerbaijan

Ramiz Mikayiloglu – APA. “Some US and European circles as well as various international organizations and persons under their influence seek to destabilize Azerbaijan and harm the country’s international image. Our youth need to be alert against such issues, demonstrating their patriotic position and giving swift reaction to any issue,” Ali Hasanov, the assistant to the President of Azerbaijan for Public and Political Affairs, said Saturday at the 4th conference of the New Azerbaijan Party’s Youth Union, APA reported.

The Azerbaijani statehood, which starts with the independence gained in 1991 and is now undergoing the process of the formation of a socio-political system, has gone through many difficulties over the course of 24 years of its independent development history, Ali Hasanov said. Committed to its ideology of independence, the Azerbaijani people and state has overcome complicated and challenging obstacles in their way, taking determined steps towards democratic, legal, secular state building. Just as in different areas of society, these positive changes have also born fruits in the area of work with youth:

“I have to regrettably say that Azerbaijani youth used to ensure the interests of different social groups in the early years of independence. Actually, different groups striving for power and causing chaos in the country turned the youth who were supposed to be mobilized for statehood causes into tools of political games.

Foreseeing possible consequences of these threats in time, our people invited national leader Heydar Aliyev to power to save the Azerbaijani statehood. Heydar Aliyev, who came to Baku after repeated calls from the people, saved the Azerbaijani statehood along with our youth from the danger of dying out. The socio-political stability, tranquility, democratic atmosphere, political and economic reforms that emerged following his second return to power became a milestone in the area of work with youth like in all other areas, resulting in crucial steps taken in this direction. The Ministry of Youth and Sports was created. Youth forums began to be held. Day of Youth was founded, etc.

It’s a direct result of the successful youth policy, which was initiated by national leader Heydar Aliyev and is being pursued by President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Mr. Ilham Aliyev, that decent youth is emerging in our country”.

Ali Hasanov said the kind of youth Hedyar Aliyev and Ilham Aliyev sought to see has almost been formed.

“[They are] the ones who deserve to be decent representatives of the Azerbaijani youth. A significant number of these youth represent the New Azerbaijani Party’s Youth Union, which contains great political power, moral strength and youth energy. It makes us confident that Azerbaijan’s future is in reliable hands,” he said.
