Ali Hasanov: â€œIlham Aliyev has never leant, nor will lean on any foreign stateâ€

Azerbaijan’s independent policy is either taken into consideration, or some want to take measures against it, but fail to do it. Azerbaijan’s opinion is taken into account in the implementation of transenergy projects in the Caspian region, establishment and development of East-West transport-communication relations. Azerbaijani authorities are indeed capable of representing the interests of the state, people,” chief of socio-political department of the Presidential Administration Ali Hasanov said addressing the reporting conference of Azerbaijan Student Youth Organizations' Union today, APA reports.

He also criticized the activity of the opposition. “Some dislike Azerbaijan’s independent policy in the protection of national interests and they attempt to set up blocs against our country. The Azerbaijani opposition is ready for everything in order to ensure its power ambitions. They support foreign pressures against the Azerbaijani state. I am reading some newspapers: “The Azerbaijani authorities have been driven into the corner”. Why? The Azerbaijani authorities are being incited to join any block. “The government has been driven into the corner”. Do you see?! Instead of supporting the national and statehood will of the Azerbaijani President, the opposition is in such a miserable situation that in order to come to power, it is ready for everything, that’s why they have been in opposition for 20 years. Today these forces are seeking support abroad, because their interests are not in line with the interests of the Azerbaijani people.

Hasanov mentioned the activity of the opposition 20 years ago: “If you remember, on June 3, 1993, one of their leaders announced that they would not quit, even if all the people stood against them. But a week later, the Azerbaijani people stood up and showed them their place. They have not still understood that the policy not based on the people’s will, can not achieve success.”

Ilham Aliyev is an example of people’s will, New Azerbaijan Party is an exemplary party. The opposition forces say that Ilham Aliyev is not conducting pre-election campaign. Do you know why he is not conducting any campaign? Because Ilham Aliyev thinks about the future of the people and this young generation, not about the results of the election. Ilham Aliyev thinks about the future of our people. YAP’s policy is the future of the Azerbaijani people and protection of national unity and interests. Ilham Aliyev has never leant, nor will lean on any foreign state. No foreign force has been able, nor will be able to make Azerbaijan’s President to backtrack on the will of independence.”
