Ali Ahmadov: â€œAbbas Abbasov should draw serious conclusionsâ€

Baku. Mubariz Aslanov - APA. “Reports have spread that Abbas Abbasov is involved in dirty activities regarding Azerbaijan. If these reports are true, we strongly regret it,” deputy chairman, executive secretary of New Azerbaijan Party (YAP), MP Ali Ahmadov told journalists while commenting on Abbas Abbasov’s recent statement, APA reports.

Noting that Abbas Abbasov had held highest posts in Azerbaijan for a long time, Ali Ahmadov said Heydar Aliyev showed a great confidence in him.

“Later, Azerbaijan’s President Ilham Aliyev showed great confidence in him. If after all this confidence, he acts against course of Heydar Aliyev in Azerbaijan, Azerbaijani citizens will strongly condemn it. Therefore, I consider that Abbas Abbasov should draw serious conclusions. Every Azerbaijani should protect the national interests and act in line with it, no matter where he lives,” he said.

Mentioning that Ilham Aliyev was nominated for presidency again at the 5th congress of YAP, Ali Ahmadov said the great majority of Azerbaijani voters will univocally support Ilham Aliyev.

“Not only the Azerbaijanis living in Azerbaijan, but also those living abroad consider Ilham Aliyev’s nomination a necessary step that will give impetus to and ensure Azerbaijan’s development. Taking into account all these realities, those who oppose it actually stand against Azerbaijan. The Azerbaijani citizens will express tough position on it,” he said.
