Traditions of robust political dialogue between parties participating in political processes are deepening

A joint visit of representatives of political parties operating in the country, well-known political scientists and political observers, as well as heads of Internet TV channels, newspaper editors, and other journalists, was organized on March 6 to the cities of Khankendi, Asgaran, and Khojaly, APA reports.

Initiated by President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, various projects are regularly implemented to further enhance the political dialogue environment in the country and to establish reliable cooperation in political processes for the sake of national interests and statehood.

In the context of building constructive cooperation, the experience of organizing joint visits to territories liberated from occupation is of particular importance for political party leaders. Joint visits by the country’s politicians to Aghdam, Shusha (twice), and Zangilan were previously organized to enrich the accumulated experience related to political dialogue, which serves to establish robust and businesslike relations.

The regular – fifth – joint visit, organized by the Presidential Administration of the Republic of Azerbaijan, was arranged to the cities of Khankendi, Khojaly, and Asgaran.

The participants first visited the Asgaran fortress complex, where they were given extensive information about the complex. They also familiarized themselves with the work being done at the Khojaly Genocide Memorial in Khojaly, as well as other significant sites.

The participants also had the opportunity to observe the restoration efforts of private houses and infrastructure built in the village of Ballija in Khojaly.

The delegation then headed to Khankendi. Visiting Victory Square, where a military parade marking the third anniversary of the Victory in the Patriotic War was held on November 8, 2023, the participants shared their impressions in interviews with press representatives.

Addressing the visit, Adalat Valiyev, Head of the Presidential Administration's Department for Relations with Political Parties and Legislative Authority, spoke of the strategic importance of the solidarity environment continuously promoted in the country at the initiative of President Ilham Aliyev over the past period, and highlighted the efforts made in this area.

Describing the glorious Victory achieved in the 44-day Patriotic War under the leadership of President of Azerbaijan, Supreme Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev, as a source of pride for all Azerbaijanis around the world, the Administration official emphasized that the gathering of all major political parties of the country at Victory Square in Khankendi should be considered a significant event in Azerbaijan’s political history. Adalat Valiyev underlined that the key factor that always unites patriotic forces is national interests and statehood, as was the case during the war.

During the visit, the politicians also familiarized themselves with the economic and tourism potential of Khankendi, Khojaly, and Asgaran.
