Aslanov: â€œThe matter is not the restriction of the freedom of expression, but conformity of internet to the norms of the national segment in Azerbaijanâ€

Anyway, all civilized and developed countries restrict dissemination of racist, nationalist reports, those damaging moral education of the young generation,” head of the Presidential Administration Political Analysis and Information Provision Department Elnur Aslanov told journalists, commenting on the adoption of the law imposing fines for insult on the Internet, APA reports.

According to Elnur Aslanov, the US has been discussing ethical norms in the communications since 1966.
“Discussions are also being held on this issue at the European Union. Internet is developing rapidly. Information technologies are changing day-by-day. In this respect, every state wants to regulate this sphere to some extent. The matter is by no means restriction of the freedom of expression, but conformity of internet to the norms of the national segment in Azerbaijan,” he said.

The department chief added that if someone insults, not criticizes, it can not remain unpunished, otherwise, the processes will lead to anarchy.
