Based on the experience gained during the years of independence, it is essential to implement comprehensive measures to resolve the necessary organizational issues and mobilize relevant resources to ensure a thorough population census, Prime Minister Ali Asadov said at a Cabinet of Ministers meeting dedicated to issues related to the upcoming population census in the Republic of Azerbaijan, APA reports.
The prime minister said that, for this purpose, the Cabinet of Ministers will approve an Action Plan as part of implementing the relevant presidential decree.
"The head of state has set a two-month deadline for the Cabinet of Ministers to complete this task.
In this regard, the State Statistics Committee has been instructed to promptly submit to the Cabinet of Ministers the relevant proposals coordinated with the competent state bodies (institutions). A one-month deadline has been set for completing this work.
At the same time, the importance of the State Statistics Committee preparing and approving the Calendar Plan for the preparation and conduct of the 2029 population census in the Republic of Azerbaijan was emphasized."
It should be noted that President Ilham Aliyev has signed a decree on conducting the population census in the Republic of Azerbaijan in 2029.
